The Matrix
Hacking online one day, Anderson encounters Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne), who informs him of the mind-blowing fact that the year is closer to 2199 than 1999 and that he, like almost everyone else, is a victim of The Matrix a massive artificial intelligence system that creates the illusion of a real world, while using their bodies and brains for energy, tossing them away like spent batteries when they are through.
But Morpheus is sure that Anderson is Neo, the one who can crack open The Matrix and lead his people to physical and psychological freedom. The pair team up with leather-clad cyberbabe Trinity (Carrie Anne Moss) to battle Matrix agents (led by Hugo Weaving), in an epic adventure.
Pioneering directors the Wackowski Brothers developed the films revolutionary and much-imitated special effects, including bullet time slow motion, and put their stars through months of martial arts training to create blistering action sequences and exciting visuals. An impressive cast also includes Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos Ralph Cifaretto) and theres even an appearance from Ada Nicodemou (Leah Poulos from Home and Away).
